Aesop's Fables have served as a traditional method of educating children for numerous generations. The idea of story telling has encouraged these fables to be passed on over the past 2000 years. As a child, Aesop was a slave; however, it is the humor and wisdom within the fables that set him free. The best of Aesop's fables conceals the human motive through the use of humor and wisdom. Once a free man, he was able to pass his fables along as he traveled.
These fables served as the start of Alfred Browning Parker's education. From the concept of plot lines, to learning how to read and eventually to a greater understanding of the lessons from the fables, these fables were introduced at an early age. Today, more than 80 years later, the collages serve as a personal artistic understanding to the original drawings of Milo Winter.
